Rough-Ins, House wrap, Home is 53% complete.

house wrapped with foam insulation

It’s time for another update. The house has been wrapped with foam insulation on top of the waterproofing membrane and taped. Now, they will add siding very soon. Rough-ins have been almost completed as well. I think we forgot to wire for speakers. We stopped by the Seattle Home Show today and saw some great vendors including home automation (via iPad mini) and door hardware folks.

The main windows in the living rooms were of unsatisfactory height, so we will be replacing them unfortunately. We tried to revise our siding, but it was rejected by the Issaquah Highlands ARC committee. Our home is one of several projects (& smallest) by YS Built, so good communication will be important to wrap up the project successfully.

Our builder/consultant reminded us about the ELFA closet sale ending this week. We went into the Container Store at Lincoln Square to design and order our closet systems. 30% off is a great deal for ELFA. If you need closet systems, ask for Daniel, he is the best designer there.

The on-site manager & crew are doing a great job, keeping the site clean and tidy. Thank you guys!

Breaking Ground – Late August 2012

Image

After about a year of design phase, architecture, consulting, deliberations, permitting issues, etc., we finally broke ground around 8/28/12.   It felt like it took forever, but our design was finally approved by the City of Issaquah and the highlands ARC Association. Yay. Below are pictures of our lot before and at ground breaking.
